An active-X Service2000 needs is missing or an incorrect version is in use.

The application found to be the culprit so far is the Earthlink Installer (Internet access setup sofware).

The following procedure will elimiminate these errrors and restore the Spell Checking functionality of Service2000:
Before attempting to o this close all Service2000 sessions.

Single User installations:
Make a backup of the database files. (Found in the DB folder, typically under C:\Program Files\Service2000\)

If the Earthlink Installer is available to be removed from Control Panel->Add/Remove Programs, remove it.

Then by going to Start->Search for files and folders, (Selecting search Hidden files in the Advanced options), search for wspell.ocx. The search will return at least one occurance of wspell.ocx in the windows\system32 folder. ( Or winnt\system32).
Right click on the name of the file and select rename. Change the name to wspell.ocx.old ; At this point reinstall the Service2000 client.
You may be prompted to update the version of the Service2000 Client you installed to the most recent build.
Service2000 should start normally with no errors.

For SINGLE USER Service2000 installations:
HAVE A BACKUP of the database files before attempting a reinstallation!!!
{Alternately you could rename the Service2000\DB folder to DBsave, reinstall Service2000, update it, then rename the folder DB to DBnew.
Then rename the DBsave folder to DB.
Service2000 should start normally with no errors.}

If the errors persist, make a note of the exact error messages, and contact GenesisFour for further assistance.
